Structural Steel Welders

Position Overview:

We are a structural steel fabricator looking for individuals with a strong work ethic who have demonstrated experience in welding

This job requires structural steel welding (beams,columns, tube etc).
Hours: 44 hours/ week
Required Experience: Minimum 2+ years experience
CWB certified is preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $18.00 to $25.00 /hour

Structural Fitters

Structural Fitter will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and fitting structural steel while maintaining quality and accuracy in accordance with the drawings provided.

As a structural fitter, you will contribute to our team by: Positioning, aligning, fitting, and welding parts to form complete units or subunits, following drawings, layout specifications, and other verbal and written instructions and diagrams.

Designing, assembling, and using jigs and fixtures to ensure efficient and accurate assembly.

Performing needed cutting, forming, and welding using appropriate equipment, consumables and hand tools. Verifying that material components and finished product meet specifications. Monitoring, cleaning, troubleshooting, adjusting, and performing required routine maintenance to maintain uptime and equipment reliability and tolerances. Reporting major concerns and recommended solutions, as necessary.

Cleaning and de-burring components and finished product to achieve reliable weld and required quality finish. Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment. Providing instructions to other personnel (e.g. material handler/labour) as required. Complying with all safety protocols and procedures and adhere to all company practices, procedures, codes of conduct and participate in all Health and Safety training conducted by the company.

Contributing to team effort by performing other related tasks as needed.

Crane Operators

While performing the duties of this job, the candidate is regularly required to operate a crane and complete various activities in the yard. These activities can include loading and unloading trailers, sorting different grades of metals, cleaning up around scrap piles, loading a shear and/or baler, along with other general day to day tasks.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sort and process materials as directed
  • Load and unload trailers as assigned
  • Working in a team environment with other employees in the yard
  • Perform regular general maintenance on the crane as directed
  • Troubleshoot problems as they arise on the crane and report to a manager
  • Maintain a safe and orderly working environment
  • Other general duties assigned by a Manager

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must possess a strong work ethic and be able to work well with others
  • Minimum of ten (10) years experience operating a crane
  • Five years experience working in scrap metal

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Heavy Equipment Operators Certification preferred
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate is an asset
  • WHMIS certificate is an asset
